Picture Perfect!

Ryan & Katrina - January 9, 2010

2010 is beginning to look like a awesome year. I didn't start off the new year with just one great wedding, but two!

If I had to describe Ryan & Katrina's wedding day it would be simple yet elegant. Nothing too extravagant or outlandish, which in my humble opinion is the better way to go. Who needs the added stress of planning a big wedding, am I right? That being said Our Lady of Peace is one of the ideal churches to have a wedding ceremony (which is where they had theirs, fyi). It's not terribly big and it has beautiful architecture. The ceremony was just beautiful and I saw something that I haven't seen in a long time. As they emerged from the church, they released two white doves that flew into the wild blue yonder. There's just something romantic about it that I can't put into words. I don't know why more couples don't do it.

The real fun began after the ceremony. We headed down to the downtown post office to take some bridal photos. I bet some of you are thinking, the post office? Really? Forget the fact that it's a post office and you have a place with terrific architecture for some beautiful photos. The bridal party was terrific. The bridal party was really fun and energetic, everything a photographer can ask for. They were up to do anything to get the perfect shot.

Their reception held a couple surprises, for me at least. Usually the guy is the one who serenades the girl, but it was Katrina who did the serenading. Her performance was very beautiful heartwarming. The other surprise was their reenactment of Dirty Dancing. You can tell they put a lot of hard work into it and it showed in their performance. You had to see it. I just hope one of their relative had a camcorder and will post it on youtube. All in all it was a beautiful end to the perfect day. Congratulations you two!

Sean & Jamie Johnston 01.02.10

There's nothing like a beautiful wedding to kick off the new year right, and what a beautiful wedding it was. The day went off without a hitch. I arrived at the beautiful Halekulani Hotel just in time to see the girls in all their radiant beauty. Of course Jamie was the most glamorous of them all, *wink wink*. The guys cleaned up pretty well themselves. Sometimes I get a wedding party that refuse to loosen up. I try to make them feel comfortable enough to be themselves, and in turn allows me to capture natural and fun moments. Fortunately, this group was not one of them. Everyone was joking, laughing, and just having a great time. Which is what weddings are all about, celebrating the love two people have for each other. Before we knew it, it was time to head to the church. The ceremony was held at the Central Union Church, which was simple yet elegant. It was beautiful. What more can you ask for? One of the highlights of the day (besides witnessing them exchanging vows), has got to be their entrance into the ballroom. The entire bridal party (entering in pairs of course), danced their way in. I wish I had a camcorder with me. The rest of the night seemed to just fly by. A cake was cut, a dance was shared, and a few speeches were given (as well as some roasting...I mean toasting). I feel honored to be included in their special day. Congratulations again you two! I wish you nothing but happiness and good fortune!

What a fun bunch.
Two weeks in a row! I thought the groomsmen of the last wedding was fun.
Well, they were but this group especially brides maids were bombs!
Honestly I had to stop them every now and then so I could catch my breath from laughing.
They had 3 beautiful kids and they were natural born models. Check out more photos of them

A perfect day for a wedding at Kahala Resort

Michael and Tanya were radiant on their wedding day at Kahala Resort. It was an early morning for all but everyone was up smiling with the sun. This is a wonderful day!

Congratulations to you both and your great family!

Exotic Beauty

Photo-shoots are always fun for me but they are made even better when I get to play with elements outside my every-day. When AJ came in wanting to use her traditional saris with a "twist" I was excited to say the least.

Wedding of Richard & Lemie

We weren't able to get nice sunset engagement due to the bad weather.
But now I'm thinking it was all for the gorgeous sunset on the wedding day!
Was so worried about the weather but it was spotless in the sky.
Sooo happy for them.
Such a handsome couple with handsome kids.

Senior Blast

The energy of high school seniors in enviable and infectious! I love working with this age group.
We had a blast creating some one-of-a-kind artwork that they will get to look back on years from now and remember with pride.

Always a pleasure shooting kids cause I have two boys on my own.
Zack really enjoyed posing, he'd do anything I ask like jumping or dancing.
Jai needed a little time to adjust himself to be comfortable and sure enough
I was able to capture him smiling.
Well, happy holidays folks!

A foggy engagement.

Richard & Lemie
Engagement Portrait.

It was drizzling and later stopped with fog.
When it's overcast it's not always bad because the natural
lighting becomes very even!
I have to admit that the foggy air was pretty romantic!

One year old and all SMILES!!

Sage is one of the HAPPIEST babies I have had the pleasure to meet and photograph. The perfect "peek-a-boo" partner. He looked fantastic in his traditional Korean outfit as well.
Happy birthday little buddy!!
